I’m a bit late in posting that I finally graduated with a SANS Technology Institute Masters of Science in Information Security Engineering degree. It took me awhile to get back on here because I was studying for the GSE. More on that in a bit.
In looking over the MSISE curriculum changes since the version I signed with, it was great to see that the GCCC requirement is added. I took the 20 Critical Controls course back in May from James Tarala (@isaudit). The course content gives any student a good start in how to go about securing their environment. It’s a great compendium to the material covered in SEC401.
Taking the multiple choice part of the GSE yesterday was a humbling experience showing how much I’m losing skillsets by not utilizing them. My grade was a full letter grade lower than my score 4 years ago. If you don’t know about it, when you re-certify the GSE you get all of your GIAC certificates renewed.

Now that I have finished school I’m hopefully to start blogging more about infosec stuff.
