  • First M33 Photograph

Using a digital telescope this is my first photo of M33 using a few dozen stacked images over 30 minutes, and only in-app processing. It is not suppose to be AI enhanced. I really liked how easy it was to capture something that is so difficult to see with the naked eye.

  • Pomodoro Technique

I tried Pomodoro today and it was really balancing: https://todoist.com/productivity-methods/pomodoro-technique . Going to keep trying it for the next few weeks. #100DaysToOffload day 3

  • Smart AI Assistants?

I’m interested in finding a MacOS/iOS smart assistant that can parse verbal or written prompts and be able to interact with calendar and reminders. Anyone aware of anything close to that being available? Preferably on-prem/locally hosted. #100DaysToOffload, day 3. I’ve been working on an automation project at work to save human hours. I’m about 1/2…

  • Blogging on phone vs. computer

Day 2 of #100DaysToOffload begins with how much harder I find writing posts from a phone versus writing it on a computer. It is so much easier to quickly get a thought down when it occurs to oneself on a phone but they are not the device for long writing periods. Maybe the solution is…

It joins Greenbone for performing credentialed scans via openvas and an all-purpose Kali VM for anything/everything. While it wasn’t difficult to install SecurityOnion, I…

  • #100DaysToOffload, 27/100 too many vulnerabilities

Ran across my python script aborting because the number of vulnerabilities I’m tracking this year crossed over the \d\d\d\d threshold. 10,000 vulnerabilities in a year. Wow.

I have been looking for a way to issue ssh command in something like Jupyter notebooks in order to track previous work and be able to reproduce the work. A colleague let me know about https://github.com/NII-cloud-operation/sshkernel . This may be exactly the tool I have been looking for. Anyone had any experience with it?

Have you ever performed on stage or given a speech? This subject was provided by another journaling app. While I was on a panel recently, my public speaking skills have diminished since the pandemic. Have folks found this occurring to them?

Heard that Voyager is 1 light day from Earth. Amazing how far out that is.

Having access to fast internet is nice (100Gbs) but I am looking forward to a gig fiber provider coming to my neighborhood. This 75GB download would have been finished sooner. Yesterday was so nice in that I got to write some bash scripts. Are there any linters for bash scripts that folks recommend?
