  • Going Gold Again!!!

After a break away from studying I’m back again.  I have just submitted a GXPN Gold abstract for approval.  If there is any code or long configurations necessary for the paper they’ll be posted here.

  • GCFA & GXPN

Passed the GCFA and GXPN this year.  Both rather challenging and fun!

  • Solar Generation Milestone

Excited to have passed the 1MWh generation!  It took just over a month to reach this point.

  • GIAC GREM

Passed the GREM exam a few weeks ago.  That class was one of the more fun and challenging that I have taken thus far.

  • GIAC GSE (part 2)

Made it in at the 81st spot on Certification Professionals.  It was a good, challenging exam.  Give it a try!

  • Modifications to gcattani’s simple-nessus.pl

In order for Nessus version 5.2.1 to output CSV files in the proper format for Splunk 5.0.3 with the Nessus In Splunk version 1.3 app installed. These were the changes made to version 0.9 (commit 2531a71a527b0ee754eeb5659acb6fcfa8046ec3) of the repo located here: https://github.com/gcattani/simple-nessus.git diff –git a/simple-nessus.pl b/simple-nessus.pl old mode 100644 new mode 100755 index b3e0c4e..ff656b3 —…

  • GIAC GSE

I ended up taking the multiple choice portion of the exam earlier this summer.  Besides GIAC’s GSE page another good resource is the Google Group: giac-study .

  • GCFE Silver

This exam was rather challenging and I enjoyed it immensely.  I certainly recommend the class for those who are interested in learning about Forensics.

  • Slides from Diskless Cluster Computing presentation

Powerpoint Slides from my presentation at SANS Network Security in Las Vegas last September.  My thanks to the great attendees who made the presentation a lot of fun.

  • Forensics – Windows in Depth

Finished the course FOR408 which is a great class in Windows Forensics as well as a good overview of forensics on general. While there I took the Offensive Countermeasures hosted course. It certainly opened my eyes to some possibilities in information gathering. I enjoyed reading something Ray Davidson tweeted about: this Forbes article.
